About Myself

Profile Picture

Stetson Honors Convocation

My name is Richard Davison and graduated from Stetson University in 2011, where I studied Computer Science and performed bassoon in the University Orchestra and the Symphonic Band. I also worked with Daniel Plante to develop a Multi-Touch Chording Keyboard for Android devices.

As a bassoonist, I’ve studied under Ashley Heintzen and Julie Fox, and credit most of my musical enthusiasm to my mother, Susan Davison, and middle school band director, Russ Weaver (thanks guys!).

I’m currently living in Beijing, China. After graduation I embarked on a mission in self exploration, linguistics and cultural exchange. I enrolled in a program at Renmin University where I took Mandarin language and culture classes for two semesters. When the program ended, I found an internship with for Longcat Labs, where I developed apps for the Android platform. Additionally, I’ve joined the Beijing International Chamber Orchestra, and traveled with the orchestra to Vladivostok, Russia.

My goals with this website are to provide original content in music compositions, arrangements, recordings, and to aggregate web resources in regards to music. Additionally, I plan to post links to my software projects, and maintain a blog with all the things I have learned. In the end, this is meant to be a personal website where I can share myself and my interests.
